Cheryl Cole is reportedly close to signing a £1.5million X Factor deal which will see her leave the show after the next series.

The talent judge, who is also the face of L’Oreal, wants to quit the ITV1 show after this year’s run to start a family with her husband Ashley, according to the Daily Mail.

A source close to the 26-year-old said: “Cheryl has made it clear that she wants to have a baby sooner rather than later. This is something she knows she has to plan. She will be 27 in June and she really wants to start a family with Ashley.”

The ‘Fight For This Love’ singer admitted to “feeling broody” as she posed with pregnant judge Dannii Minogue at the National TV Awards.

X Factor fan Prince Harry has told the show’s winner Joe McElderry that he is ‘so jealous you got to spend weeks with Cheryl’.

A bystander confirmed ‘Harry made it clear that Cheryl definitely has the royal seal of approval’.

‘It was highly amusing.’

Perhaps the Prince, who took long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy to watch the Grand Final on Sunday, would have preferred Cheryl to be mentoring him!

Harry is said to be ‘potty’ about reality shows with The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent down as ‘appointment TV’.

Harry and girlfriend Chelsy got a grand tour of the venue on Sunday, and said hello to their favourites.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly indicated that she will not be quitting The X Factor.

The Girls Aloud singer has mentored the past two winners in Joe McElderry and Alexandra Burke and wants to continue her run, The Sun reports.

It had been suggested that Cole would leave the programme to concentrate on her solo career and starting a family, but she has now said: “I would like a hat-trick. I’ll give it a go.”

A source added: “Cheryl created such a strong bond with Joe that winning with him has shown her how much she loves it.

“The chance to win a third series on the trot looks like it might be too good to miss.”

Cole previously said that her decision whether or not to return to the programme would not be based on her salary but instead on how rude show boss Simon Cowell is to her.

The first part of the X Factor Finals this weekend. We saw Cheryl and Joe visit South Shields, and Joe did a duet with George Michael! We also got to see Kimberley Walsh in South Shields with all of Joe’s supporters!

Joe McElderry returned to his home town in South Shields with his mentor Cheryl Cole, who also grew up in the area.

Fans lined the streets as he paid a visit his former stomping ground, Harton Technology College. He performed Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ to a packed school hall.

Joe arrived at Newcastle Airport this morning on a flight from Heathrow. Airport chief executive Dave Laws said: “We are all rooting for Joe at the airport and will be keeping our fingers crossed for him in the final. “If he wins we will no doubt have requests to rename the airport McElderry International!”

Joe is the first of the three finalists to return to their home town with their mentors. On Tuesday Dannii is expected to accompany Stacey to Dagenham while on Wednesday Olly and Simon will head out to Essex.

All 3 pairs will be filming for Saturday’s live final.
