Cheryl Cole ‘fears US X Factor could ruin her career’
Cheryl Cole is petrified her career could go up in flames if she were to join the US X Factor, it has been reported.
The 27-year-old allegedly signed a £3million deal with Simon Cowell’s new show to be a judge but now she is fearing the transition between the British show and American could be too much for audiences to handle and could see the downfall of her career.
In addition, Cowell recently expressed his concerns that Chezza’s Geordie accent will limit her abilities to be understood by an American audience.
And it seems she has the same fears as a source told Star magazine: ‘Cheryl was thrilled to accept the offer, but she is terrified it could all go horribly wrong, and has said: ‘what if nobody likes me?’
‘She thinks being hated in a country like the US could kill her career overnight.’
Cheryl will be joining her close friend Derek Hough, 25, in the States and is so eager to make it work she is reportedly having elocution lessons to tone down her Northern accent.
‘Having elocution lessons is a real prospect for Cheryl now. She’s proud of her roots and doesn’t want to change how she speaks, but she accepts that if the Americans don’t understand her, they will quickly turn on her,’ the source added.
This is the semi-finals for this years The X Factor. Rebecca sang ‘Show Me Love’ and ‘Amazing Grace’, while Cher Lloyd sang B.O.B’s Nothin’ On You and Rihanna and Eminem’s duet Love The Way You Lie.

Dannii Minogue: “Cheryl’s always been there for me”
They’re often thought of as rivals, particularly in the style stakes, but in a new interview Dannii Minogue has insisted she’s on good terms with fellow X Factor judge Chery Cole.
Speaking to Marie Claire magazine, Dannii said of Cheryl, “Cheryl’s always been there for me when I’ve had a hard time. Cheryl said to me the other day, ‘I don’t know how you’re doing all this. I know how crazy it is when all the contestants are running in and out and I have no make-up on. ‘And then I think of you trying to fit in feeding the baby as well.’’’
We’re actually inclined to think that Dannii and Cheryl really are pals, anyone else notice the Geordie judge giving Dannii a high-five at the end of Matt Cardle’s second performance on Saturday’s X Factor? You can just see it about three minutes into this video.
Miss Minogue has also spoken to Grazia about Cheryl, admitting she’d love to see the Chezza in one of her project D designed dress, “I’d definitely like to see her in a Project D dress – I have a hummingbird one I think would look gorgeous on her and I’d love to see Rebecca [Ferguson] in one of our looks.”
Anyone else love the idea of Dannii and Cheryl having a clothes-swapping girlie night in?

Simon Cowell has branded fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole ‘mad’ and compared Louis Walsh to Coronation Street battleaxe Ena Sharples.
The X Factor supremo said that the constant demands of the show – following a year that has seen the Girls Aloud singer, above, battle malaria and go through a divorce – had tipped her over the edge.
He said: ‘The slogan of this year’s show was “Embrace the madness” and Cheryl says she can’t work out if she is embracing it or actually going mad.’
‘It’s a fine line. But Cheryl has always been mad. Look into her eyes and you will see total madness. She was always fighting it, but it was there ready to come out. I’ve had the most bonkers conversations with her.’
He also accused Cheryl of copying his judging style, stealing his trademark salute at the start of the show and sniped that Dannii Minogue didn’t ‘get’ current pop music.
After slating her last week for not working as hard as he and Dannii did with their acts, he said of Cheryl: ‘Cheryl is kind of a mini-me. She even copied that salute from me. I did it on American Idol.’
And just to twist the knife further, he said would chose Dannii over Cheryl as a mentor: ‘If I had to choose a mentor other than myself, if I was a contestant, I’d want to be mentored by Dannii.’
CHERYL Cole faces a younger version of herself on The X Factor in a spoof video — and not surprisingly thinks she’s great.
The footage is made from clips of Cheryl both as a judge on the show and when she auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, before she had her glam style transformation.
It shows a young Cheryl auditioning in front of herself — and the grinning Cheryl judge tells her she’s “right up her street”.
Later she exclaims how much she likes the young Cheryl to Louis Walsh — who tells her, “She was a bit like you”.
The clip then shows both Cheryls hugging at judges’ houses stage after the older Cheryl tells herself that she’s one of her final three acts.
Later on, Cheryl dances along as she watches herself perform Fight For This Love on stage — before she’s crowned winner of The X Factor.
