| Joe McElderry: ‘Cheryl Cole is always there for me!’ | |
Joe McElderry hit the town for the first time since he bravely told the world he’s gay. The X Factor winner, who was at London club Kanaloa on Wednesday night, revealed how happy he is to get everything off his chest. Joe said: “I’ve never felt so free. The support has been overwhelming.” It certainly has – he’s gained 20,000 more followers on Twitter since he came out two weeks ago.And it’s not just fans who are supporting him – WILL YOUNG and his mentor CHERYL COLE are too. Will gave him a shout out during his gig last week and he’s been chatting to fellow Geordie Cheryl on the blower. Joe added: “I didn’t go to Cheryl before I came out as she’s got enough on her plate at the moment, otherwise I would have done. She’s always there for me, always on the end of the phone. “She’s constantly giving me advice on how to handle fame and the pressures. “Knowing Will did that too means so much.” The star was in high spirits all night. He went on: “I’m very happy. I can’t wait to release my album and I’m excited about the future.” |

| Kimberley Walsh didn’t want X role | |
The Girls Aloud star – who presented a live broadcast for the 2009 ‘X Factor’ final from eventual winner Joe McElderry’s home town of South Shields – insists she is happy that Nicole Scherzinger was asked to step in and cover for her malaria-stricken bandmate during the Boot Camp stage of the competition. She explained: “Cheryl and I have similar opinions but it’s Cheryl’s gig so it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to replace her. “Nicole Scherzinger will be interesting to watch – it’s a good way for the public to get to know her better.” While Kimberley had been rumoured to be taking over from the brunette beauty as she recovers from the bout of malaria she contracted last month, Pussycat Dolls star Nicole was asked to stand in after impressing music mogul Simon Cowell during her stint as a guest judge. However, Cheryl is determined to return to work soon. |

| Olly Murs: Cheryl Cole smells as good as she looks | |
Despite Cole’s budding romance with US dancer Derek Hough, Murs plans to try to catch the Girls Aloud singer on her own. ‘I’m not going to lie, she is unbelievable. She smells good, she looks good,’ the smitten 26-year-old said. ‘If I go back on The X Factor this year, I’m going to go straight to her dressing room,’ the Essex lad told Heart FM. He described how Cole, 27, surprised him as he napped backstage at the talent show. ‘I opened my eyes and there’s Cheryl looking at me. “Hi Olly.” I was like, “Seriously, is there anyone else in the room? Just lock the door!” And I could smell this scent…’ Meanwhile, malaria-stricken Cole hit LA on Saturday for the first time since her release from hospital. |

| Cheryl Cole planning move to LA? | |
Cheryl Cole is planning to relocate to Los Angeles after realising that she wants to be with Derek Hough, according to reports. The Girls Aloud singer is currently enjoying a holiday with Derek in California as she continues her recovery from a life-threatening bout of malaria. And she is enjoying her time with the Dancing With The Stars winner so much that she is willing to move to the US permanently to be close to him once the new series of The X Factor is over. A source told the News of the World “Cheryl has been having an absolute blast in LA. She and Derek are getting on really well and she’s feeling like a completely new woman. “She has been beaming and everyone has noticed it. She’s confident and bubbly and hasn’t been down at all, even though her divorce is so close to being finalised.” According to the Daily Star Sunday, Cheryl is so happy with life in Los Angeles that she has told Simon Cowell she wants to film her judges’ houses section of The X Factor there before flying home for the live shows. Cheryl is also confident her new man can help to secure success for one of her competitors on the new series of the talent show. A friend explained: “Cheryl thinks that having dancer and choreographer Derek on board will boost her chances of winning. “She can help with their singing and he can teach them some moves.” |

| Cheryl Cole to film X Factor ‘Judges Houses’ in Britain | |
Cheryl Cole may be forced to film the ‘judges houses’ segment of the X Factor in Britain – as she could still be too poorly to travel. The judges – Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl and Dannii Minogue – normally jet away to somewhere exotic to whittle down their finalists. However, as the fragile star continues to recover at home after battling Malaria, it has become clear that producers may have to amend their plans. A show source told the Mail: ‘At this stage we are looking at different ways to make things as easy as possible for Cheryl.’ Last year, Mrs Cole, 27, who mentored the boys, whittled down her finalists in in Marrakech, Morocco, with the help of Will Young. A source close to Mrs Cole added: ‘No decision has been made yet about judges homes. It’s still some way off so we will see closer to the time.’ New mum Minogue, who gave birth to son Ethan earlier this month, is expecting to rejoin the show for the judges house at the end of August following her maternity leave. Last week, Cowell, 50, admitted that the petite brunette was keen to return to work. She missed the final X Factor auditions in Manchester – and will miss the boot camp auditions this week. But Cowell said: ‘I think she is keen to get back to work. I just want to make sure she doesn’t rush back too early. ‘We’re going to have a conversation about that.’ |

| Cheryl Cole falls ill, cancels X Factor schedule | |
Cheryl Cole has been forced to cancel a weeks work, including the Manchester X Factor auditions later this week, after falling ill over the weekend. A source told The Sun, Cheryl appeared pale, gaunt and was sweating whilst having her makeup done for an album cover shoot. She then collapsed with exhaustion at the studio in London. A doctor was rushed to the scene and ordered complete rest for a minimum of 7 days. It appears Cheryl has a vicious gastroenteritis bug. Earlier this morning, Cheryl’s PR Company ‘SupersonicPR’ tweeted this statment on twitter:
This is very likely to include all 3 Machester audition dates. Cheryl has reportedly been working 18hrs days since announcing her divorce to Ashley Cole. All of us at GirlsAloudMedia hope that Cheryl has a long deserving rest, and wishes her a speedy recovery. Manchester auditions will not be the same without you! |

| Hungover Cheryl fends off teasing from Simon at auditions | |
Cheryl Cole was battling a birthday hangover in Cardiff last night when she arrived for the latest round of X Factor auditions. The Girls Aloud star and show judge arrived in the Welsh capital looking fragile and wrapped up in a hoodie rather than her usual stylish self – and Simon Cowell immediately spotted the singer was under the weather and decided to tease her for the rest of the day. Cheryl’s actual birthday was on Wednesday when she hit 27, but she’s been celebrating all week. Cowell, 50, spent the whole day baiting and winding Cheryl up as she fought off her headache and tiredness, not helped by some serious caterwauling from the X Factor wannabes. Simon embarrassed her as he winked and told the audience: ‘Cheryl’s rather I’ll today. She might get a bit sulky and tired if you’re not nice to her. She’s got the disease going around called “hangover”. You need to be gentle – she doesn’t want too much noise”. Cheryl hit back good-naturedly: “I may be a little hungover but I have a good excuse because my birthday was two days ago.” |
