Nadine Coyle says she’s envious of Cheryl Cole’s proximity to X Factor impresario Simon Cowell.

Nadine is currently in America, hard at work on her debut solo album which launches next year.

“I think anyone would be envious that Cheryl has Simon Cowell’s backing,” she told Closer magazine.

Nadine said she’s happy for her bandmate and that she phoned Cheryl after her performance on the X Factor to compliment her.

“We’re not at war,” she said.

Football star Ashley Cole has denied claims he is jealous of wife Cheryl’s success.

The England ace spoke out to tackle rumours their marriage has been on the rocks since her solo career took off. Girls Aloud star Cheryl, 26, twice appeared on The X Factor without her wedding ring.

But Ashley, 28, revealed that he was delighted his “beautiful” wife had hit the top spot with her debut solo song Fight For This Love. He told OK! magazine: “I am very proud of her.

“She worked hard to do it and she deserves all the goodness that comes to her. When she first thought about a solo career she was scared and nervous that she was going alone.

“We all get nerves in different ways but Cheryl has done brilliantly on The X Factor and she did a great performance of her single.”

And he gave the raunchy outfit she wore that night the thumbs up.
He said: “I like it. I think she looks beautiful. I was proud of her and very happy.” A spokesman for Cheryl added: “Cheryl and Ashley are very happy.”
