POP beauty Nadine Coyle’s solo career has been plunged into crisis by a series of crippling budget cuts. Nadine, 24, was desperate to launch her first album this summer in a bid to rival Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole. But the US-based starlet – who yesterday denied claims that she is at personal loggerheads with Cheryl – has been left fuming after her £900,000 budget was slashed to £200,000. Sources say investors are reluctant to back her when she is not a cast-iron chart certainty. A source close to the star revealed: “There had been plans for a huge production and spectacular £300,000 video |

Cheryl Cole will perform at the V Festival this summer, announcing the gig days after her split from husband Ashley. It will be her first solo performance at a festival, following appearances at the Brit Awards and on The X Factor. Kasabian and Kings of Leon will headline the music event, which takes place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of August 21-22. Performers at the 15th anniversary festival will also include Florence And The Machine, Stereophonics, Faithless, The Prodigy, The Kooks, Paul Weller and Paolo Nutini. La Roux, Ellie Goulding, Pet Shop Boys, Madness, Editors, Mika, Groove Armada, The Charlatans, Goldfrapp, Kate Nash, Paloma Faith, Plan B, Sugababes and Pixie Lott are among the others on the bill. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Cole performed at the V Festival with Girls Aloud two years ago. The 26-year-old announced her separation from Chelsea and England footballer Ashley last month, following reports that he had been repeatedly unfaithful. He has made no public comment on the split, but was photographed yesterday without his diamond-encrusted wedding ring. He is currently undergoing treatment for a broken ankle at a clinic in the south of France. The footballer reported blames his mother-in-law, Joan Callaghan, for the break-up, claiming that she killed the passion when she moved into the couple’s £6 million Surrey home last year. |

Oh Dear, Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh does not seem happy with fellow bandmate Nadine Coyle. Kimberley Walsh is presently trying to get the group – which also includes Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts – back together to start work on a new, more mature LP, but Nadine is in Los Angeles working on the release of her solo album. Kimberley, 28, said: “I miss the girls. The plan is… Well, basically, Nadine needs to come over from Los Angeles. We need to chat and book it in because there are five people’s diaries to work around, rather than just one.” Nadine has been working with Robbie Williams’ former songwriting partner Guy Chambers on her record, as well as writing songs for the album herself. Nadine recently said: “I’ve been writing my own songs and I’m hoping to release it in the spring. I wrote nearly all the songs myself. It’s quite embarrassing when you start songwriting because you are opening yourself up, I think people are going to like the album though.” Kimberley also played down rumours Girls Aloud – who are currently on a year hiatus – could split permanently now Nadine and Cheryl have started solo careers, Sarah has become an actress and Nicola has launched a make-up range. She told Metro: “We signed up for three albums before we took the break. We always have to take it up a level and bring out new and exciting stuff. The things we’ll be singing about will be quite different this time around.” Source: OK Mag |

Cheryl Cole could record a song originally intended for Alicia Keys, her new producer has revealed. OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder – who disclosed last week that he has been working in the recording studio with Cole – is keen for her to tackle a ballad he wrote with Keys last year. “There’s a song I did with Alicia Keys that was finished too late for her album and I’m convinced it’s the perfect song for Cheryl Cole,” he told Digital Spy. “I’m desperately trying to get the demo out of her label’s grasp so I can play it for Cheryl. It’s a ballad in my sense, so it’s got massive drums and it really moves, and it’ll give you goosebumps when you hear it.” Tedder, who has written hits for Leona Lewis, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez, also revealed that the songs he is crafting for Cole will be “as personal as possible”. “Cheryl likes something real,” he said. “I had a long meeting with the head of her label and he said she doesn’t want kitschy throwaway dance anthems – basically if Britney would sing it, she doesn’t want it.” Cole’s debut solo album, 3 Words, has sold more than 600,000 copies since being released in October. Cheryl Cole’s career keeps going from strength to strength and now the pop star has been confirmed to perform at the Brit Awards. The X Factor judge will sing live at the Brits in February, marking the Awards’ 30th anniversary, reports say. Since Girls Aloud’s ‘The Promise’ won ‘Best Single’ at last year’s Awards, Cheryl has gone on to top the charts with her solo album, 3 words. Also performing at the music event on February 16th will be Robbie Williams, Lady GaGa, Kasabian and JLS. Dizzee Rascal and Florence and the Machine are also reportedly performing a duet of their two singles, called ‘You Got The Dirtee Love’, according to Digital Spy. Chairman of the Brits Committee, Ged Doherty, said: “Brits 30 will be the music event of the year.” Nominations will be broadcast on ITV2 on January 19 at 8pm. Source: Metro |
