| Solo Sarah to Rock DJ | |
ROGER SANCHEZ has signed the GIRLS ALOUD singer to work on a club anthem for his new album. The blonde caner, who is following bandmates CHERYL COLE and NADINE COYLE down the solo path, met the ace US producer in Ibiza during the summer. Sarah was on the party isle watching fiancé TOM CRANE plying his trade behind the decks. But Sarah also has a sideline – dog breeding. All she needs is a ladyfriend for her pooch, Claude. Tom said: “Sarah really wants to get a little girl French bulldog for him. “I don’t think he’ll have any complaints.” No, but you might if they start going at it hammer and tongs on the kitchen floor. |

| Nadine Coyle to release her music exclusive to Tesco?! | |
It means her debut solo album will only be available from the supermarket, where it will fight for space with the fruit and veg. Britain’s biggest grocer has been promising a string of bigname signings to their start-up record label. Earlier in the year its entertainment director announced a tie-in with Mick Hucknall and Simply Red and signing Nadine is certainly a big coup. Whether it works for Nadine remains to be seen. The 25-year-old from Northern Ireland has been working in LA for two years now on her “dream” album. She had signed with Geffen Records, but the deal came unstuck over finances. So far she’s worked with Robbie Williams’ former songwriting partner Guy Chambers, Madonna’s one-time producer William Orbit and singer songwriter Lucie Silvas and is close to finishing her record. The long wait for a deal has apparently being deeply frustrating for Nadine and fuelled speculation that things were not going well. But my source tells me: “Tesco will sell her album exclusively to their customers and it won’t be available anywhere else, and being able to work on the music that she wants was the main reason for going with Tesco.” |

| Scouting for Girls offer Nadine Coyle singing role | |
Hitmakers Scouting For Girls have offered Nadine Coyle a job singing with them if she quits Girls Aloud. However, the boys behind songs such as Elvis Ain’t Dead, She’s So Lovely and This Ain’t A Love Song, have warned they will smell less fragrant than her female bandmates. Bassist Greg Churchouse from the quirky group told The Razz: “I was reading Heat magazine and saw Girls Aloud were getting back together but not inviting Nadine, right, back. “I thought she could do some work with us. If she wants to join us on the bus for a little tour of the UK, she’s more than welcome. |

| Cheryl Cole ‘to use married name for new album’ | |
Cheryl Cole is releasing her second solo album later this year – under her married name. It will be the title of her CD which finally confirms that despite her imminent divorce from love rat hubby ASHLEY COLE she is not switching to her maiden name Tweedy. The singer, 27, fully recovered from life-threatening malaria in time to finish recording sessions in LA. X Factor judge Cheryl says her move was inspired by chart legend TINA TURNER, 70, who kept husband and bandmate Ike’s name after their 1976 divorce. And a source said: “Cheryl has decided her married name will stay. She feels the most successful period of her career has been under the name Cole. “She’s established in Europe. Going back to her maiden name Tweedy would be confusing. “It also shows she is bigger than Ashley and prepared to be grown up about a difficult time in her life. She is a fan of Tina Turner. Tina was divorced during her career but decided to stick with her married name because it was how she was best known.” Ironically, Cheryl’s passport is still in her maiden name. She renewed it for ten years when she started touring with Girls Aloud in 2005. Her mail is also often addressed to Cheryl Tweedy. She will perform the first single of the new album on the X Factor in October. |

| Nicola Roberts back in studio as songwriter | |
Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is back in the studio on her own – as a songwriter. The singer was given a publishing deal to write songs that could be used by other acts, the ECHO can reveal today. It was rumoured Nicola, from Runcorn, was recording a solo album after signing a deal with label Sony. But a spokesman for Nicola denied the 24-year-old was working on an album without her fellow Girls Aloud bandmates. He told the ECHO: “There is no truth in Nicola being signed to Sony Records. She has been in the studio but as a songwriter. “She has a publishing deal and is writing songs that may be used by other people.” It was recently reported in a national newspaper and on entertainment websites that Nicola was bored of waiting for the girls to regroup. They claimed the singer, who was voted sexiest redhead ever in a nationwide poll earlier this year, planned to give it a go as a solo star. |
