Kimberley Walsh, one fifth of ‘Girls Aloud’, attends the UK premiere of ‘Horrid Henry’ held in London

Amy Walsh has revealed that her sister – Girls Aloud star Kimberley – has been advising her on her upcoming Hollyoaks Later role.

The actress joined the show in June as Jenifique McQueen and will feature in a storyline involving Mercedes Fisher’s hen do in Ibiza.

“Kimberley is great. She’s been really supportive,” she told the Daily Star Sunday. “We’ve always been close and whenever I was off school I’d hang out with her and the rest of the girls. I get on well with all of them.

“They’ve seen me grow up and I’ve been there through it all with them too. It sounds mad but they’re just my sister’s friends. Kimberley is very down to earth. I’ve done a bit of singing before but it’s definitely all about acting for me. I’ll leave the singing to Kimberley.”

She added: “I’ve already done a bit of theatre and this is my first role on TV, so I’ve been really lucky to have got such a great character. When I found out I had to perform a pole dance as well as sing up on stage, I did get a little nervous!”

Amy added that the cast had a “great time” filming in Ibiza. “We worked hard and played hard,” she said.

Kimberley recently confessed that she is “a bit worried” about her sister starring in “the X-rated version” of Hollyoaks.

Hollyoaks Later airs on E4 at 10pm from Monday September 5.

Sarah Harding is recording new solo material, reports suggest.

The Girls Aloud singer, who has starred in a number of films during the band’s hiatus, is said to be spending time in the recording studio with singer-songwriter Luciana, who rose to fame featuring on the 2006 Bodyrox song ‘Yeah Yeah’.

“I’m actually writing with Sarah Harding at the moment from Girls Aloud,” Luciana told Pop Trash Addicts.

“She’s down the studio. And she’s lovely. A good time girl. She’s got a great voice and we’re just writing some tracks together.

“And when we go to America we’re gonna do some stuff with Nicole Scherzinger.”

The news comes after Harding’s boyfriend Tom Crane admitted that he was missing her because “she’s busy recording in the studio”.

Cheryl Cole has spoken publicly for the first time since being struck down with malaria.

The Girls Aloud singer broke her silence at the launch of this year’s The X Factor. Cheryl, 27, was in hospital for three weeks after contracting the bug on holiday.

She said: “I’m gutted I missed the last audition and boot camp stage. But I’m looking forward to seeing what Simon, Louis and Nicole have chosen.

“I can’t wait to get my category so I can get my teeth into it. What I’m looking for is a little diamond of an act you can polish.”

Bad news for Girls Aloud babe Sarah Harding. Her solo album has already hit the skids just weeks into the project. A bit more Something Kinda Poo, rather than Oooh.

The blonde caner may have sung about Calling The Shots with her four bandmates. But it appears she is struggling to get her own way with her solo career.

My source close to Girls Aloud’s liveliest member told me: “Unlike Cheryl and even Nadine’s solo efforts, Sarah’s has been really difficult to get off the ground. She has finally started having meetings with producers and management over the last few weeks but it seems that no one can agree on what direction to take her in.”
