Sharon Osbourne has cast doubt on Cheryl Cole’s chances of making it big in the US and said Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger would be better for US X Factor.

Sharon, 58, said: ‘Cheryl’s perfect for England – she’s the nation’s sweetheart and they absolutely love her.

‘But over here [in the US] it’s Nicole’s town. You have to think of the audience and most of them would never have heard of Girls Aloud.

‘Nicole’s great TV, has a huge following here in the States and people absolutely love her. Plus she’s beautiful and talented.’

But the former X Factor judge did not rule out 27-year-old Cole’s chances completely, telling Now magazine: ‘It takes a long time to make it in the States because it’s so huge. I think she’s made the right decision to move out here. She couldn’t just come over and do a show then pootle off.’

Referring to Cheryl’s close friendship with Simon Cowell, Sharon added: ‘She probably looks at him as the father figure she never had. Simon absolutely adores her and you can tell that by the way he looks at her.

‘Cheryl reminds me of Bambi. She’s got these big, brown, beautiful eyes and you just want to stroke her.’

She said Cowell liked to be surrounded by young, pretty women, adding: ‘I think Simon needs his young girls beside him, like Nicole Scherzinger. If you were king of the world like he is, would you want ugly women around you? He’s not going to want someone with no teeth and psoriasis – that’s why he has beautiful girls around him.’

Sharon has been linked with a judge’s role on Britain’s Got Talent but said: ‘There’s been talk but not from Simon. I’d be there in a heartbeat.’

KIMBERLEY Walsh has waded into the latest X Factor 2010 controversy, telling Louis Walsh to keep his mouth shut about Dannii Minogue.
Louis Walsh has reportedly said he wants Sharon Osbourne to replace Dannii Minogue on The X Factor.

But Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh said Louis doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

In her latest OK! column she said: “Louis has said he wants Sharon to replace Dannii as she’s his friend and Dannii’s just an acquaintance.

“Out of respect to Dannii Louis probably shouldn’t be saying that but he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut, that’s just what he’s like, he’s a nightmare!”

And she reckons the Aussie brunette is a great judge.

She added: “I thought Dannii was really good last year. I agreed with her on a lot of things but she’s just had a baby so might want to take a bit of time out.”

Kimberley reckons Simon Cowell might want to shake things up a bit though. She said: “Simon likes to keep things interesting and he keeps his cards close to his chest so I’d expect him to mix things up a bit – he’s unpredictable!”

Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has slammed Cheryl Cole over her split from footballer husband Ashley, says a report.

The 57-year-old allegedly accused Cheryl of “wallowing” in self pity since the split from the Chelsea star.

Osbourne apparently urged Cheryl to “move on” with her personal life and said that the break-up was “no tragedy”.

Sharon is quoted in the Daily Star as saying: “Come on! She’s the same age as my eldest daughter; she’s been married three years with a glossy magazine wedding and had no kids. She’s got a great career and a great life waiting for her.

“Just move on, darling! There’s no debris, there’s nothing to hold you together. You’re England’s sweetheart, there’s no tragedy there.”

Osbourne also slammed Cheryl for marrying the England defender when she was just 23 years old.

She added:”If they stopped the flashy perfect couple bull***t then the relationship might stand a chance. “But if it’s all going to always be about `how fabulous we are’ then it’s fairytale nonsense. It’s not real life.”
