Sarah’s DJ fiancé Tom Crane presented her with an impressive sapphire and diamond sparkler – similar to Kate Middleton’s £250,000 rock – on New Year’s Eve, but Sarah decided it didn’t go with her party outfit for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner in London.

Or perhaps she just doesn’t like the design.

‘I know the kind of ring Sarah wants,’ Tom, 29, said before he popped the question.

Umm, maybe not.

Sarah, 29, wore her skull ring with a face-print dress, black heels and gold jewellery.

The Girls Aloud star likes to look a bit edgy and different and wants something unique – not a standard frock – to wear on her big day.

‘I think I’d like a nice vintage dress,’ she’s said.

‘I’d like something fitted then I’d change into another dress afterwards.’

They announced their plans to wed earlier this month, after four years together.

And now photographs of Sarah Harding and Tom Crane celebrating their engagement in the Maldives have emerged.

The couple are seen beaming with happiness as they walk along the beach at the five-star private resort of Velassaru in the Maldives, where Tom got down on one knee and asked Sarah to be his wife.

Tom is thought to have brought Sarah’s beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring weeks before their January break and secretly stowed it in his luggage before the pair flew out to the Indian Ocean island.

And Sarah was clearly delighted and immediately said ‘yes’ to Tom’s proposal during the romantic getaway on the 21-acre island, situated in the quiet South Male Atoll.

Tom took to his Twitter page to spread the happy news, declaring: ‘A late happy new year to you all…I feel like the luckiest man in the world!!!’

Tom and Sarah stayed in the resort’s Pool Villa, which boasted it’s own private swimming pool, dining area, outdoor shower and decked veranda, and were also given the use of their own private butler.

The couple have been dating since June 2007 but briefly split in 2008.

However, they reunited, and have since grown closer than ever since going into business together – Tom is the resident DJ at Sarah’s London nightclub Kanaloa – and setting up home last year.

Pop princess Sarah Harding has been given an engagement ring similar to Princess Diana’s.

The Girls Aloud singer flashed the expensive ring as she walked through Heathrow airport with fiancé DJ Tom Crane.

The ring bares similarities to Princess Diana’s oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring which Prince William gave to Kate Middleton when he proposed.

Walking through Heathrow airport, a smiling Sarah, wearing shades, a grey jumpsuit and black jacket, looked refreshed following her New Year holiday in the Maldives.

Fiance Tom got down on one knee on New Year’s Eve and proposed to his girlfriend of more than three years.

This time of year was always going to be a busy period for Cheryl Cole due to the X Factor being well underway and the work involved behind it. After Cheryl’s recent recovery from malaria you would think that the singer would be taking it easy. No such chance for Chery, not only has she planned a new single and book but there is a jewellery range as well!
Earlier this week Cheryl released clips of her dressed in a ballerina’s outfit giving fans a teaser of her new music video for her next single Promise This, which is released at the end of October. Also coinciding with the launch of the single Cheryl has been asked by top jeweller De Grisogono to design her own range!

This will not be the first time that Cheryl has worked with the top designer jeweller. She has been seen on numerous occasions on the X Factor in loaned jewellery from the brand and also has performed at their private parties that they throw for top clients and staff.so she is no stranger to the bosses of the brand.

Cheryl’s range is rumoured to be all rings but if the line goes well then there could be other collections as well. After working with De Grisogono at one of their private parties the jeweller were apparently so pleased with the British star that they discussed the possibility of designing her own range instantly. Cheryl has been heard talking about wanting to design her own fashion range for the high street but wanted to ensure she had enough time to do it so this desire to expand her skills into the design field has been no secret.

As part of Cheryl’s new partnership she will also receive free jewellery so we can expect to see more beautiful designs on Cheryl in the big X Factor Betting final shows!

Cheryl’s range with De Grisogono has been named Promise after her new single, with such a beautiful name that could mean so much it may not be hard to think of a certain occasion that these rings could be aimed at?

On top of judging The X Factor and recording a new album, the singer has designed a range of flashy rings for posh jeweller De Grisogono.

Cheryl has put her name to the top-end line to be called Promise, after upcoming single Promise This.

Obviously, the dazzlers don’t come cheap but I’m sure it won’t be long before a High Street chain do a good copy.

Cheryl started working with the firm after she performed at a party for them in Cannes earlier this year, and picked up £250k.

The Geordie has certainly been a good advert for them.

She’s worn their sparkly pieces loads of times.

The girls tell me she’s a big fan of the disco ball earrings.
