MTV jetted off to sunny Los Angeles to gatecrash the hotly-anticipated video shoot for Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts’ first solo single Beat of My Drum. With exclusive behind-the-scenes access, MTV’s cameras captured everything from Nicola’s nerves at the start of the shoot to the phenomenal dance choreography. No stone was left unturned in MTV’s mission to get all of the gossip and glamour!
Beat of My Drum has already been grabbing attention across the internet, featuring some of the freshest street dance styles in the States. Not to be left out, Nicola, backed by three dancers, joins in with an aggressive piece of choreography that would make Beyonce sit up and take notice!
During the shoot, Nicola opens up about the pain she felt during the early days of Girls Aloud, commenting that she wouldn’t be surprised if her sensitive bandmate, Kimberly, would feel hurt when she heard the revealing album. Nicola insists that Beat of My Drum and its video were her chance to show her new found confidence in looking different to the rest of Girls Aloud.

Sarah Harding Reveals Plans To Join Cheryl Cole In LA
Sarah Harding is back on the showbiz circuit and on a mission to show it’s not just Cheryl Cole who has exciting news after Girls Aloud.
Sarah, who has the nickname Hardcore Harding because of her never-ending energy, hung out with the cast of MTV reality show Jersey Shore at Mahiki nightclub, where she definitely made an entrance in a figure hugging outfit.
She’d been off the party circuit for a while after getting engaged to long-term boyfriend DJ Tom Crane and it seems that after a break she is ready to party more than ever.
As the party chick engaged in some fist-pumping dancing – a trademark of the Jersey Shore TV series – she exclusively revealed to Very that its not just Cheryl Cole who’s moving to LA.
While everyone’s talking about Chezza’s move to the States to be on the judging panel of US X Factor, Sarah said she planned to take Hollywood by storm.
“I’ve had some auditions in LA for films and it’s definitely I want to make more of this year,” Sarah confessed. “Once the wedding is out the way, I want to fulfil my career ambitions and that means acting. I want to be a household name around the world, I don’t want to be known as one fifth of Girls Aloud forever.
“And after that, babies probably.”
Talk about setting herself high standards but if anyone has the energy to put into achieving her dreams it is Sarah.
Sarah Harding heads out – minus her engagement ring
Sarah Harding ditched her engagement ring for a less girlie gold skull band for a night on the town last night.
Sarah’s DJ fiancé Tom Crane presented her with an impressive sapphire and diamond sparkler – similar to Kate Middleton’s £250,000 rock – on New Year’s Eve, but Sarah decided it didn’t go with her party outfit for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation Dinner in London.
Or perhaps she just doesn’t like the design.
‘I know the kind of ring Sarah wants,’ Tom, 29, said before he popped the question.
Umm, maybe not.
Sarah, 29, wore her skull ring with a face-print dress, black heels and gold jewellery.
The Girls Aloud star likes to look a bit edgy and different and wants something unique – not a standard frock – to wear on her big day.
‘I think I’d like a nice vintage dress,’ she’s said.
‘I’d like something fitted then I’d change into another dress afterwards.’
