Cheryl plans duets with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj & Katy Perry for debut US album
Cheryl Cole‘s team are trying to land the singer a number of A-List collaborations for her debut US album ahead of her appearance on the American X Factor.
The Girls Aloud star who looks certain to judge on the US talent show has already released two albums in the UK but her management want to put together a new album which would help launch her music career in the country.
The album will feature new songs and the best tracks from her two UK albums “3 Words” and “Messy Little Raindrops” with some being revamped to appeal to the US market according to sources.
An insider said: “Cheryl’s management want her to become the next big popstar in America and are working on securing some A-List names for the album.
“A Rihanna duet is a certainty and will.i.am is trying to convince Minaj to work on the LP too. Katy Perry has also been in talks with Cheryl about a duet as she is a big fan.”
The insider added that Cheryl is “desperate” to work with Beyonce and Britney Spears too but knows that a collaboration with both superstars would “take a long time to achieve”.
The album will also feature a few of her tracks with Black Eyed Peas will.i.am who she is good friends with as well as her collaboration with Travie McCoy, it is believed.
KATY Perry has once again gushed about her girl crush on Cheryl Cole, describing the Geordie as “edible”.
The singer, who joined Cheryl on the panel earlier this summer as a guest replacement for the then-pregnant Dannii Minogue, clearly took a liking to the young judge.
She raved: “The most gorgeous judge is Cheryl Cole. That woman is just edible.”
Her latest comments come after she described the brunette as a “sweeeeetie pateeetie” on her Twitter page following her appearance on the show.
But Katy, 25, did admit she had a bit of trouble understanding Cheryl’s North East twang.
The singer added: “She kept calling me… what was it? Popette? ‘You’re a popette. She kept saying that to me. Is that a compliment? It is? I love Cheryl. She’s got a whole other version of English going on.”
Katy, who is engaged to comedian Russell Brand, appeared at the auditions shortly before Cheryl was taken ill with malaria.

And yesterday, Cheryl Cole went for a relatively simple look in a low-key khaki playsuit, which she teamed with black Christian Louboutin heels and a black cinch belt.
The singer, who turns 27 tomorrow, added extra glam with the help of some long gold earrings.
But then she knew she had to make an extra effort with Katy Perry as a guest judge on the panel.
Katy, predictably, opted for all-out glamour in a pale blue sequinned number.
The 25-year-old American is the latest in a string of guest judges adding a bit of oomph to proceedings in the absence of Dannii Minogue, who is on maternity leave.
