Mollie King Hopes Cheryl Cole Gets Better Soon
Mollie King hopes Cheryl Cole will “get better soon.”
The Saturdays singer – who herself was temporarily out-of-action recently due to cellulitis – says she can sympathise with the X Factor star, as she recovers from malaria.
“Cheryl must be feeling really down,” Mollie said. “It’s horrible for anyone to miss out on work but especially with her as she’s going through a real high point of her career right now.
“At least with me, I had the rest of The Saturdays to carry on as we have a new single and new album to promote,” King then added to the Daily Record. “With her, everything has to stop.
“I just want to tell her to get better soon and hang in there. All of The Saturdays wish her better and hope she can recover as soon as possible.”
Cheryl Cole’s weight has dramatically plunged HALF A STONE as she battles malaria, the News of the World can reveal.
The stricken X Factor judge is now just over 7 STONE and so thin that her bones poke out.
Her condition is so fragile that doctors have banned her from dancing – and it could be SIX MONTHS before she can do her strenuous stage routines again.
Last night a source said: “Cheryl is far too thin. She was 7½st to 8st before but she doesn’t have any meat on her now. Her hip bones literally stick out. She won’t be dancing for some time. Her routines were exhausting.”
Cheryl’s weight plummeted after she was struck down with malaria following a holiday in Tanzania with close dancer pal Derek Hough.
The skeletal 5ft 3in star has been put on a strict weight-gain programme as she recovers.
Her Body Mass Index has dropped from a healthy 19.8 to an underweight 17.4 – some model agencies insist models have a minimum of 18.5.
Cheryl, 27, is now recovering at her £6 million Surrey mansion helped by mum Joan Callaghan and Derek. The source added: “Cheryl understands that she now has to follow medical advice. Her ridiculously busy work routine is off so there’s time for her to focus on getting healthy and putting the weight back on.”
She has pulled out of the X Factor for a few months and the V Festival in August.
Cheryl Cole leaves hospital to recover from Malaria at home
Pop singer Cheryl Cole left hospital earlier today, the Daily Mail has learned.
The star, who was rushed to hospital 11 days ago after being struck down with malaria, has now returned to her home in Hurtmore, Surrey.
The star, 27, will continue her recovery at her £6 million six-bedroomed former marital home.
A close friend of the star revealed: ‘Cheryl’s at home now. She left the clinic early today.’
The star was rushed to hospital on July 4 after being struck down with infection disease malaria.
She was then quickly transferred to the Hospital For Tropical Diseases specialist unit at University College Hospital in central London as her condition worsened dramatically.
However, as her condition improved she was transferred back to a private clinic in London six days ago.
And on Tuesday evening, X Factor Svengali Simon Cowell – while admitting he had not been able to see her – had laid the ground for her discharge from hospital by telling the Mail: ‘She will be out within the next day or two.’
Mrs Cole has already pulled out of her role in the boot camp section of the X Factor, which is due to start next week.
Her planned performances at the V Festival in Chelmsford and Stafford on August 21 and 22 have also been axed.
And the timing of the release of her second album – which had been due in October – remains under pressure.
Singer Cheryl Cole is “making a good recovery” after being diagnosed with malaria, her fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell has revealed.
“I had a text from her yesterday,” the pop mogul said at the launch of a charity to help burns victims.
“She is on the mend and looking forward to coming back to work.”
Cole, 27, was diagnosed with malaria after collapsing last week, forcing her to pull out of V Festival and the boot camp stage of The X Factor. On Friday she left intensive care and was transferred to a private clinic.
It is believed she contracted the disease during a six-day visit to Tanzania, on Africa’s east coast, with friend Derek Hough.
When news reached us that our good friend, Cheryl Tweedy had contracted malaria last week, we were absolutely shocked. It’s only a short time ago that she, along with eight of her celebrity friends, completed a grueling physical challenge to raise money for Comic Relief to buy and distribute malaria nets – the first step in preventing families and children in Africa from contracting this deadly disease.
Cheryl did an amazing thing when she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last year, and she knows what a devastating effect malaria can have on anyone who catches it – especially for those children and families living in poor countries where they have no access to healthcare.
Thanks to Cheryl and the team’s huge fundraising efforts, Comic Relief has been able to distribute thousands of malaria nets, helping to save lives and prevent many children from contracting the disease.
We’re also part of the United Against Malaria coalition which helps to raise awareness of malaria and get political support to eradicate this deadly, yet easily preventable, disease that still kills over 2,000 children in Africa every single day.
We’ve set up an online petition called Sign the Ball where you can make your voice heard by joining us in calling for an end to malaria.
And in the meantime, while we do whatever it takes to tackle malaria head on, we wish Cheryl a very speedy recovery.
STRICKEN Cheryl Cole was just HOURS from death in her shock battle with malaria – and last night a close friend revealed: “She’s not out of the woods yet.”
The struggling X Factor judge is still on oxygen, on a drip and unable to talk as her brave fight against a deadly strain of the tropical disease continues in a top London private hospital this weekend.
Last night Cheryl’s close friend told us: “We nearly lost her and the battle is far from over. She is so weak and this horrible illness has taken complete hold of her.
“It got so bad she was literally only hours from death’s door. Thank goodness she was diagnosed in time.
“Even now she can’t talk. She drifts in and out of consciousness and when she comes round all she can do is sob.
“There was no news coming out of the hospital because it was all so touch and go. We couldn’t give any assurances to fans because there weren’t any to give.
“The fact is, we came close to losing someone very special. She can’t even speak at the moment and doesn’t know what’s happening to her. All she can do is sob. It’s terrifying. And there’s no end in sight.”
Although Cheryl’s malaria plight has been widely reported, almost no-one was aware of the near deadly consequences of her sickness.
For the first time the News of the World is revealing the true extent of her illness – picked up on holiday in Tanzania with close friend Derek Hough three weeks ago.
Cheryl’s condition is so serious that:
HER SKIN and eyes have turned YELLOW with jaundice.
HER BUDDY Derek has stayed constantly by her side.
HER WORK schedule for next few months – including live shows and X Factor appearances – has been axed.
HER FRIENDS are appalled that cheating ex-husband Ashley has not been in touch with even one word of sympathy or support.
Cheryl Cole Transferred to a Specialist Hospital for Malaria
Cheryl Cole has been transferred to a specialist hospital to be treated for malaria. The “Fight for This Love” singer, who was recently struck down with the tropical disease after apparently being bitten by a mosquito while holidaying in Tanzania with close pal Derek Hough, has reportedly been admitted to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases at University College London so medical experts can deal with the illness before it gets too serious.
“She really is very poorly indeed and doctors weren’t taking any chances. Intensive care was their best option when they saw what condition she was in. She is now in the best place for her with the best experts in the field to look after her,” a source close to the star told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “Cheryl is in a real battle but she is nothing but a fighter.”
The 27-year-old pop beauty is believed to have spent three days in intensive care at London’s private Cromwell Hospital after being diagnosed with the illness on Sunday, July 4. She was then transferred to the specialist unit and the disease is said to have “really taken a hold” on the Girls Aloud star. A spokesman for Cheryl confirmed, “It is a lot more serious than first thought.”
“Everyone thought she would pull through after 24 hours but there have been no signs of improvement. She is very ill and will not be out of hospital for a while. Everyone is holding their breath. Because of her hectic schedule, the malaria has really taken a hold. She has not got the physical strength to beat it.”
Cheryl has been forced to pull out of her role as a judge on Simon Cowell’s pop star search show “The X Factor” until further notice.
