Glamour interviews Kimberley Walsh
Kimberley Walsh, face of the new Puma Trainlite Trainer, talks to GLAMOUR.com about Girls Aloud reunions and her beauty and fashion tips.
GLAMOUR: Nadine Coyle and Hilary Shaw have both mentioned that a Girls Aloud reunion might be on the cards next year to mark the band’s 10th anniversary. Can you tell us anything more?
KIMBERLEY: I can’t divulge too much information and, actually, we’re still in the process of working things out but we definitely want to do something to mark our ten year anniversary. There’s things in, umm, talks. Hopefully – probably – early next year, they’ll be a lot more to tell but we do definitely want to do something for that.
G: What beauty product could you not live without?
K: My Girls Aloud Eyelure eyelashes and Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. Nicola‘s [Roberts] also got a really good product in her Dainty Doll range, called Wonderbalm. It’s also got a little mirror in it, I’m not being vain, but it is quite handy to have in your handbag!
G: What is your beauty luxury?
K: Massages. I actually do really enjoy being pampered. Because when you work out you feel like you’ve earned it a bit more. Because normally I’m like, I can’t really justify getting a massage and if you’re actually aching, then you can justify booking yourself a massage.
G: You’ve fronted a New Look campaign and designed your own range jewellery…How would you describe your style?
K: We [Girls Aloud] are all involved in fashion in our own ways. I think I probably lean towards things that people wear, who are a similar shape to me. Not that I’m even remotely trying to pit myself against these people but like J.Lo and Beyonce – their figures. I can look at them and what they’re wearing and they’ve got a bit of a bigger bum and it looks good on them, so maybe I’ll try that. Steal the little tricks that they’ve worked out over the years, you kind of pick up yourself. Like I can’t necessarily look at a supermodel, like Kate Moss and think I’ll wear that, becuase it won’t look the same on me. I’m not a straight up and down shape. Whereas Nicola is very streamlined, you know she can probably pick anything up off a catwalk and wear it. You just have to play to your body shape and everyone has one, whether they’re two sizes bigger or smaller.
Cheryl Cole has given her strongest hint yet that her US X Factor dream may be over.
She admitted her career diary was empty as boss Simon Cowell and co procrastinate on whether to give her the job. ‘I really plan to not plan,’ the 27-year singer and X Factor judge told Glamour magazine.
‘I’ve had my life mapped out for the best part of ten years, so for now I just want to enjoy myself and live in the moment.’
With hopes of a starring US role in the balance, Cole also delivered a defiant retort to American TV bosses who said people would struggle to understand her Geordie accent.
‘It’s going nowhere. Absolutely nowhere’, she insisted after it was suggested she should get elocution lessons.
And it might not be such a bad thing after all if the Fight For This Love singer returns to Britain as she misses the food and drink here.
‘Ringtons tea from Newcastle is the best. I always ask my family to bring me some when they visit,’ she claimed.
‘I also miss British chocolate, American chocolate is awful! It’s like wax. I have to get some Dairy Milk or Galaxy brought out. As for their KitKats… I don’t know how they can even call them KitKats.’

Another aspect of American life she might not miss is the obsession with health regimes. ‘I honestly don’t have one,’ the Girls Aloud beauty boasted.
‘People give themselves too much of a hard time with stuff like that – just do it if you want to. I don’t have a regime that I regularly stick to. But the TV out here is non-stop with adverts for the latest health craze.’
Instead, Cole claims you’re far more likely to find her relaxing on the couch with her favourite tea and chocolate watching the royal wedding – after she became a confirmed fan of Kate Middleton.
‘I can’t wait to see Kate’s dress,’ she added. ‘She’s going to look beautiful. I asked my hairdresser what she thinks Kate does to her hair to get it that shiny. She looks as though she just wakes up with it looking like that.’
Cheryl Cole has been crowned Woman of the Year by the readers of Glamour Magazine.
The awards were held at Berkeley Square Gardens in London and Cheryl arrived in a stunning Julien Macdonald dress, fit for anyone who was about to recieve such a prestigious award!
Earlier in the night, Cheryl missed out on other awards she was nominated for. Lily Allen won ‘Solo Artist of the Year’ (infuriating hardcore Cheryl fans on twitter!) and Dannii Minogue won ‘TV Personality of the Year’.
However, the missed awards didnt matter in the end for Cheryl Cole. As she went on stage to collect the biggest award of the night, she thanked her dentist! A tip from Simon Cowell perhaps?!
