Cheryl Cole gets to work on set of What To Expect When You’re Expecting
She’s been keeping a low profile in recent months since her unceremonious sacking from X Factor USA.
But it looks like Cheryl Cole is determined to make her name Stateside after landing her first Hollywood film role.
In a rare glimpse of the singer, she was spotted looking slim and toned on the set of What To Expect When You’re Expecting in Atlanta, Georgia.
After months of hitting the gym near her Los Angeles apartment, the 28-year-old showed off the results in a tight black Emilio Pucci lace dress and Christian Louboutin heels as she made her way to film her first scenes.
Her sleek and confident look is a far cry from her cute, but unsure appearance in a polka dot outfit at the X Factor USA auditions in May.
The film – whose cast also includes actors Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock and Matthew Morrison – chronicles the lives of four couples as they prepare to become parents.
And, in what could be construed as a side-swipe at Simon Cowell after she was sacked from X Factor USA, Cheryl will play a TV talent show judge for her cameo role in the film.
Cameron plays Jules who auditions in an X Factor-style contest in front of the TV talent show judge – Cheryl’s character.
Cheryl is said to have initially impressed Hollywood film bosses during a four-day appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
A film source revealed to the Daily Mail earlier this year: ‘This is a bit of fun for Cheryl. She will film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it.
Just weeks after she lost her US X Factor judging role Cheryl Cole is to appear in her first Hollywood film alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.
Cheryl Cole has been given a part in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, just weeks after she was dropped from the US X Factor and replaced by former Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger.
Her publicist said, in a tweet: “Cheryl Cole is confirmed for a small cameo appearance in the film What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”
The film is centred on the lives of four couples during pregnancy.
Cole gave up her role on the UK X Factor to join the panel in Simon Cowell’s new US version, but the position was short-lived.
She made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
It has been claimed that her film debut could see her playing a judge on a TV talent show for which Cameron’s character, Jules, auditions.
The film is based on the best-selling pregnancy guide of the same name and follows the lives of four couples preparing to become parents.
Glee actor Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid and Chris Rock are also linked to the film, which is due for release next year.
Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding is furthering her acting career as she joins the cast of Run for Your Wife.
Following on from her part in 2009′s St Trinian’s II: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, Harding is moving up to a bigger role in Tom Cooney’s adaptation of his stage play.
She joins Danny Dyer, Denise Van Outen and Neil Morrissey in the comedy, which begins filming this month.
The film follows Dyer’s character John Smith as he attempts to prevent his two wives Stephanie and Michelle, played by Harding and Van Outen respectively, from finding out about each other. Smith is aided by his gullible neighbour Gary, played by Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey.
Harding seems to be getting on well with the rest of the cast with Van Outen tweeting: “First meet with the Run for Your Wife movie team today. Loving Danny Dyer and Sarah Harding. Think we will have fun” after their first get together.
Run for Your Wife is expected to include over 80 cameos from stars such as: Cliff Richard, Rolf Harris, Ray Winstone, June Whitfield and Prunella Scales.
The cameo stars will not be paid for their appearances, instead a small donation will be made in their name to the theatre charities of their choice.
