SHE’S had the year from hell, so if any girl’s aloud a laugh it’s Cheryl Cole – and one man is determined to make sure she has a good time.
Her rapper pal Will.i.am is throwing a glitzy party in Los Angeles in Cheryl’s honour.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman wants to make sure 27-year-old Cheryl celebrates her successes this year – despite it also being her toughest 12 months yet.
The Geordie lass has been through a heart-breaking divorce from Chelsea player Ashley Cole, survived a bout of malaria and is exhausted after taking part in the most controversial X Factor so far.
But her second solo album, Messy Little Raindrops, has topped the charts, as has her most recent single, Promise This. So she deserves to pop a few champagne corks at the star-studded shindig hosted by her number one fan, Will.i.am.
He also wants to make sure Chezza meets the big players of the US music industry before she launches her singing career Stateside in 2011. My insider tells me: “Cheryl just wants to celebrate after the tough year she’s had. And this bash will be mad, crazy, with music pumping and 200 semi-naked dancers to entertain her and make her forget all her worries of 2010.
Kimberley Walsh says she’s looking forward to spending Christmas Day with her family, although she won’t be with boyfriend Justin Scott.
Writing in her OK! column this week, the Girls Aloud star said of her festive plans this weekend: “I’m really excited about going home to my mum’s in Bradford for Christmas.
“We have a big family feast and my mum spoils me rotten! Justin spends it with his family and daughter Chloe in Bristol, but we meet back at our home a few days after Christmas and spend New Year together.”
Kimberley also added that she’ll be seeing her band mates during the holidays too.
“This year I’m having a big party at my flat to celebrate, although all the other members of Girls Aloud are out of the country so we’re going to have a few mince pies and drinks around Cheryl’s just before Christmas,” she revealed.
Kimberley Walsh says her apartment looks like “Santa’s grotto”.
The 29-year-old British star shot to fame in pop group Girls Aloud, alongside Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle.
Kimberley loves the festive season, so has been adorning her home with decorations to get her in the holiday mood. The talented star prefers sticking to customary Christmas colours, rather than attempting anything too modern.
“Christmas is just around the corner and I’m so excited! My flat looks like Santa’s grotto as I’ve put up all the decorations,” she wrote in the British edition of OK! magazine.
“I go for traditional colours of red, green and gold and I decorate everywhere. I think it looks a bit try-hard when people match their decorations to their colour scheme – that’s not what Christmas is about!”
The gorgeous star’s sisters helped her with the decorating as her boyfriend Justin Scott was away working. Kimberley thinks it’s probably for the best Justin wasn’t present as he isn’t a fan of the festive carols she likes to play to get in the yuletide spirit.
“Justin was probably glad he wasn’t there, he always tries to change the music after the third repeat of Silent Night!” she laughed.
