Black Eyed Peas praise Cheryl Cole
WILL.I.AM has thrown his full backing behind CHERYL COLE for superstardom in the US.
The BLACK EYED PEAS star has just taken on a co-managing role to make her a success across the Pond.
I just hope he has more enthusiasm for her career than for interviews to help him sell tickets for his gigs.
I met up with the jetlagged band – Will, FERGIE, TABOO and APL.DE.AP – in London last week. They were all raving about Cheryl, who supported them on their last European tour, between stifled yawns.
Will said: “It’s going great with her. She’s got a bright future ahead – no question.”
Taboo, who is a lovely bloke, added: “She’s beautiful – not only on the outside but on the inside. She has a great personality and I think she connects well with people. She is a great artist and she’s part of the family.”
And Fergie, wearing shades indoors, added: “She’s also very smart and not afraid to speak her mind. People want to hear the truth so she will do well.”
Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie – who became pals with X Factor goddess Cheryl Cole this summer when she was the opening act on the group’s tour – thinks her pal could soon work with some of the world’s biggest movie and music stars.
She said: “She is such a good friend. But I don’t think she has quite got her head around how big she is going to be.
“My girl really can rule the world. I have already heard crazy things like Robert De Niro wants to make movies with her and that Jay-Z wants to work with her.”
Fergie even believes Cheryl – who is rumoured to be joining the judging panel on the US X Factor when it launches next year – could reach the levels of stardom attained by pop superstars Madonna and Mariah Carey.
She added to The Daily Mirror: “Within five years we could be talking about Cheryl on the same level as we go Madonna or Mariah Carey.”
Fergie has always been a strong supporter of Cheryl’s, and pals recently claimed the bisexual star had told bandmate will.i.am – who was romantically linked to the singer after she split from soccer player Ashley Cole – she had more chance of sleeping with her than he had.
A source close to Fergie – who is married to actor Josh Duhamel – said: “Fergie has been telling everyone she’s more likely to sleep with Cheryl before will does.
“Everyone has been teasing him about his crush. But when Fergie came out with this, everyone fell about laughing.
“She’s mentioned it a few times now. And even Cheryl thinks it’s hilarious.”
Sounds like Fergie wants a role as princess in Cheryl’s royal rule of the planet!
Cheryl Cole is reportedly dating one of the Black Eyed Peas’ dancers.
The Daily Star claims that the Girls Aloud singer has been happy for people to believe that she was dating Derek Hough, who she has been regularly linked with in the press.
“Cheryl has been more than happy to use Derek and her good friend will.i.am to fool paparazzi and fans alike,” a source told the paper. “She has actually been dating one of the dancers.”
They continued: “They met while she supported the band on their European tour earlier this year.”
Yesterday, Amir Khan denied that he said that Cole and Hough were not dating, after reports suggested that he had commented on their friendship.
The source continued: “Cheryl’s relationship with the hunky backing dancer is very casual. They’ve been enjoying each other’s company behind closed doors.”
The paper claims that the X Factor judge is planning to spend time in Ibiza with the dancer and will.i.am shortly.
“Cheryl’s hoping to fly out and party with the lads in Ibiza in a few weeks time,” the source added. “However, it all depends on what happens with her job-hunting in LA.”
It has been reported that Cheryl Cole has signed a record deal in the US under Black Eyed Peas star, Will.i.am’s label.
Cheryl and Will worked together on her debut album, 3 Words and have made no secret of the fact they’d like to continue working with one another.
Will told the Big Issue: “[Cheryl's] dope, I like collaborating with her. We’ve talked about working on her next album, plus we signed her to the label in America.
“We’re figuring out how we go about it in the States. It has to be something really incredible done in a different way.”
But if you’re hoping there is something more than friendship between the pair you’re going to be disappointed as Will addressed the rumours that he wants to sleep with the singer…
“I heard that, it’s so not true. Cheryl is a lovely girl. We’ve had the best time on tour, hanging out after the show and partying.”

Songstress Cheryl Cole, who performed at Birmingham’s LG Arena on the last date of her UK tour, wowed fans with a series of eye-popping outfits and intimate routines with her dancer pal Derek Hough.
Stepping out on stage in a series of midriff-baring leotards, thigh-split trousers and knicker-skimming dresses, Chezza went down a treat with the crowd as she performed a string of hits.
But while she raised the temperature by draping herself around Dancing With The Stars professional Derek (who must think he’s the luckiest bloke on the planet), it wasn’t until Will.i.am arrived that things got preeeetty heavy.
The 26-year-old couldn’t stop grinning when the Black Eyed Pea joined her on stage for their duet and continued to beam the entire way through their rendition of 3 Words. Interesting.
