Here are some Cheryl Cole edits taken from her short time on The X Factor USA. These videos are “Cheryl only” parts from Audition episodes 1 & 3 before Nicole Scherzinger took her judging seat!
Cheryl Cole accent not an issue on X Factor USA says Steve Jones
Steve Jones has said that Cheryl Cole’s accent played no part in her being axed from The X Factor USA.
The Welsh host of the American show told Heat that US audiences are fans of different British accents.
Asked if Cole’s accent caused problems, Jones said: “I can only remember two American people asking what she was saying. Seriously.
“So it wasn’t an issue. And my own accent hasn’t been an issue, either. If anything, it’s an ace in the hole – they seem to love it.”
On what the atmosphere was like on set after Cole left, he added: “It was business as usual. You can’t really mope around.
“I was really looking forward to spending a lot of time with Cheryl – I’ve known her for years and she’s a great girl. But we just got on with the show. We moved the pieces around and just continued. What else can you do?
“I spoke to Cheryl afterwards and it was all cool. It really wasn’t awkward in the slightest. I hope I do bump into her soon.”
Cole and X Factor boss Simon Cowell have reportedly reconciled after her departure from the show.
The Girls Aloud star is also reported to have cut all ties with her ex-husband Ashley despite repeated claims that they had reunited.
Nadine Coyle interview with Billboard on Girls Aloud and US Album Release
Those stateside may not fully feel the fame of Girls Aloud, the reality TV-spawned pop group that holds 20 top ten U.K. singles. But with the 10-year anniversary of the group’s founding coming up, fans worldwide have been dying to know whether Girls Aloud will reunite, following a hiatus in 2009. GA vocalist Nadine Coyle, who is currently ramping up her own American presence with a new solo album, spoke about the possibility of a reunion.
“It’s always been something we wanted to do,” Coyle, who goes by simply “Nadine,” tells Billboard.com. “It’s been like ‘Oh my gosh, we’ve been together ten years. We should do this, we should do that.’ But at the minute there’s been nothing officially discussed or decided. I’m hoping that we’ll do something. Ten years of all that stuff, it would be a shame to let it pass!”
Nadine hinted slightly that something would, in fact, happen with a reunion of Girls Aloud, which includes fellow solo artists Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts. Nadine adds, “It’s going to be fun.”
For being such a huge star across the pond — Girls Aloud were named the “Most Successful Reality TV Group” by Guinness World Records in 2011 and reportedly had a net net worth of 30 million pounds in 2010 — Nadine comes to America relatively unknown.
“It’s a challenge, it’s a challenge!” she says. “You’ve got to come, you’ve to work hard. I remember the days beginning at sixteen, seventeen years old in Girls Aloud. Nobody knew us, nobody cared. We’d do university shows and people threw beers cans at us. All sorts of crazy things! We had to work really hard to get where we did. That’s where I’m at now — that grind. That mentality of, ‘Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s work hard. What can we do? What can we achieve?’ Working as hard as we possibly can. I love that part of it.”
This grind includes preparing for the U.S. release of her debut solo album, “Insatiable,” which was released in her native U.K. in November 2010. Nadine is currently in the studio working on new material, creating new mixes of tracks on the original “Insatiable” release, and revisiting material that did not make the cut originally. Her new songs, she says, ranges from the “really dark, fighter-esque type — very strong, ‘nothing going to get us down’ songs,” to a modernized take on Marilyn Monroe’s “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend.” Other influences range from Lykke Li to what she describes as the “funk style” of the new Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera collaboration, “Moves Like Jagger.”
Meanwhile, Nadine and her team are currently in talks with U.S. labels, while they see how her new track “Sweetest High,” a summer introduction for “Insatiable,” performs. “‘Sweetest High’ is for the clubs, that’s what it was for,” Nadine says. “It wasn’t supposed to be anything serious.”
She continues: “There’s no rules in music anymore. You don’t have to go down with, ‘You have a single, let’s do six weeks of promo, beginning with this, doing this, doing this.’ We’re doing it in our own way.”
We know how you all love being kept updated on Cheryl’s every move, so here is the latest information we have the pop princess.
It would seem, according to The Sun, that Cheryl isn’t only partying with Girls Aloud pal Kimberly Walsh while stateside, she is also laying down some tracks for her next album.
She’s been using the studio’s underneath the Sunset Marquis Hotel where fellow female stars Cyndi Lauper, Chaka Khan, Sheryl Crow and Madonna have recorded some of their most famous tracks.
A source told the paper; “Cheryl has loved working at the studios. Some of the female singers that have worked there before are her all-time heroes. It’s been the perfect place for Cheryl to plunge head-first back into work again.”
Cheryl Cole Takes L.A. Holiday With Kimberley Walsh
Cheryl Cole is taking “time out” in Los Angeles with Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh.
The ‘Promise This’ singer – who has stepped out of the limelight ever since she was sensationally axed from the US ‘X Factor’ in May – arrived at the city’s LAX airport late last night (07.07.11) clutching Kimberley’s hand.
While it had been speculated the pair were in the US on business, a spokesperson for the 28-year-old star suggested their trip will be of a relaxing nature.
Cheryl’s representative told MailOnline: “Cheryl is taking some time out as she said on her website last month.”
Following her firing from Simon Cowell’s TV talent show, the brunette beauty vowed to take time off to “chill” with her loved ones.
She said: “I have had the weirdest past few weeks (nothing unusual there though.) I wouldn’t even know how to begin to tell you all about it.
“I have had the time that I have not had in so long to just chill with my loved ones and do the normal things that I like to do. See my friends and family and be with my doggys. It feels long overdue and sooooo good, even my feet are happy to not have to wear a pair of high heels hehe.”
Simon Cowell opens up about Cheryl’s US X Factor saga
Simon Cowell finally has broken his silence on the X Factor Cheryl Cole saga, hoping to set the record straight on the Geordie singer’s axing from the US show.
Publicly apologising to the Girls Aloud star, he told the Sun: ‘I’m sorry. I’m not a monster.’
It seems the music guru still hopes to make things right with his former pal, claiming he was only looking out for what was best for her during the entire fiasco.
‘I’m sorry. I hope we’re still close friends’ he said. ‘She’s still a star. The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her.
‘But the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time,’ he admitted, ‘I just thought she’d be happier in the UK.’
And despite hearsay that her accent put her on the chopping block, Simon has insisted it has nothing to do with it.
‘We noticed she was quieter than normal. The feeling was that she was slightly out of her comfort zone in America. The intention was to do it quietly and say to her she had an option to rejoin the UK show.’
He also denied reports that she had been sacked, insisting he wanted her to go back to her role on the UK show.
‘At the end of the day we were saying, ‘move to another show for even more money’. There was an offer of around £2.5million on the table including bonuses. How is that sacking someone?’
He also revealed that he didn’t tell her to leave the US show – but instead executive producer Richard Holloway delivered the final blow: ‘I wasn’t the right person. I felt she would be more comfortable to hear it from him.’
With Nicole Scherzinger now confirmed as the new judge replacing Cheryl on the US X Factor, it seems Cheryl’s fate has been sealed. But despite this, Simon insists that there are other roles for her on different shows.
Cheryl still hasn’t spoken out about her ordeal, but a friend told The Sun: ‘If Simon wants to say it wasn’t personal, that’s up to him. But the reality is he really pushed her into doing the US show. She would have been happy doing another year on the UK show.
‘At least he has said she walked away and that she wasn’t fired.
‘She just wants to take a break from all this and look to the future. It has been completely exhausting but she isn’t going to let it get in the way of her life any more.’
X Factor confirms Cheryl Cole not a judge in US show
American TV bosses have confirmed Cheryl Cole will no longer be a judge on the US version of the X Factor.
It’s the first time Fox, Freemantle North America and Syco TV have confirmed the Girls Aloud star is no longer part of the format.
In a statement, bosses confirmed that former Pussycat Dolls’ singer Nicole Scherzinger will be her replacement.
Former T4 presenter Steve Jones will host the show by himself.
The statement said: “Nicole will join Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul on their search across America to find the next global superstar or group to win the life-changing five million dollar recording deal.
“Nicole has previously joined Simon Cowell as a guest judge on The X Factor for the UK version of the show in 2010.
“Steve Jones will act as sole host of The X Factor.”
