Rihanna is set to star on Cheryl Cole’s new album.
The ‘You Da One’ singer is said to be a fan of the ‘Fight for This Love’ hitmaker and keen to team up with her on a track for her third album, which is rumoured to be due out in March.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s a big year for Cheryl. She can’t wait for her fans to hear the music she’s been passionately working on over the past 12 months.
“She has struck up a friendship with Rihanna, who recently duetted with Brit star Calvin Harris. Rihanna thinks the world of Cheryl and will work on a party remix with her when they meet up on her next visit.
“The album fuses pop, hip hop, soul and dance. It already has some party anthems on it but Rihanna’s would get everyone up on their feet.”
Taio Cruz: “I’ve Recorded Three Songs With Cheryl Cole”
Taio Cruz has revealed that he has recorded three songs with Cheryl Cole.
The ‘Troublemaker’ singer hit the studio with the Girls Aloud star in Los Angeles to work on the singer’s forthcoming solo album.
He told Capital FM’s Rich Clarke: “I have been working with Cheryl Cole. It’s not on my album, but I’ve been working on her next album as well.
“We’ve done about three songs together in the LA.
“You can never really be sure which songs will get cut once they go through their picking process, but I really like the songs we did – they were really awesome – and she sounds amazing on them.”
Cheryl’s new album is expected to be released next year and is the follow-up to 2010′s ‘Messy Little Raindrops’.

Nicola Roberts thinks her solo album surprised her Girls Aloud bandmates, with Cheryl Cole expressing her shock at some of the tracks.
The Girls Aloud star recently released her debut record ‘Cinderella’s Eyes’ and bandmate Cheryl wasn’t expecting to be so emotionally affected by the music.
Nicola said: “The other girls love it. I think they’ve been a little bit surprised by the music. Cheryl told me, ‘I laughed, I cried, I was shocked, I was this, I was that, I was every emotion listening to the album.’ That’s what I wanted, for people to be able to relate to it.”
Nicola admitted she was surprised by the public reaction as she didn’t know what to expect.
She said: “It’s been amazing, just unbelievable, especially after working so long on something so personal.
“I didn’t build myself up for anything. I’ve always loved to write and I really wanted to get into the studio to learn and just get better at it. I suppose I wanted to become a little bit more legit in what I said I did for a living.”
Cheryl Cole has apparently been enjoying late night studio sessions with hip-hop producer Alex Da Kid in New York.
According to The Sun, Chezza and the 28-year old were spotted arriving at a five-star hotel in the Big Apple at 1am, with pals of the Fight For This Love singer claiming that she “hit it off” with Alex straight away.
It is thought the Girls Aloud star has been working on tracks for her third solo album with the music guru, with a friend of Cole’s telling the tabloid: “Cheryl and Alex have struck up a great relationship and have been living in each other’s pockets for the past week.”
“Some of the recording sessions have run into the very early hours with just the two of them and a laptop in their hotel rooms.”
They continued: “Cheryl has been suffering from jet lag and couldn’t sleep, so they have just worked through the night. It hasn’t all been work — they’ve enjoyed some play too. If the music is going to work then they need to find their own chemistry.”
An onlooker who saw the duo arrive at the plush NYC hotel noted: “They seemed really relaxed. Cheryl was laughing and smiling. They looked like they had known each other for years.”
The former X Factor judge’s manager, Will.I.Am, is thought to have hooked up Chezza with the producer – real name Alexander Grant – after he has previously worked with the likes of Eminem and Rihanna on their hit duet Love The Way You Lie, as well as B.o.B’s Airplanes.
Cheryl took to Twitter yesterday to tease her fans about her new material, posting on her official page: “I’m gonna have to get some patience.. This is hard.. I’m too frustrated with excitement for you to hear my new music.. I could pop!! Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!”
Cinderella’s Eyes has become one of the most anticipated releases of the year, an incredible mix of colossal pop melodies, underground sounds, singing, rapping and astonishing honesty – and the great news is that it’s out now!
Nicola said: “I’ve been given an opportunity to make the album I want to make, so I’ve absolutely put every last bit of heart and soul into it.”
For anyone who pre-ordered Cinderella’s Eyes on iTunes, please be aware that there are some technical issues which means you won’t be able to redeem the album today. This is being corrected and should all be back to normal for this evening when you should be able to redeem your album.
