Cheryl left LA late yesterday to catch a flight to Nice, France for the Cannes Film Festival. She is there as a spokeswoman for L’Oréal Paris.

Just a day after her appointment as a judge on X Factor USA was confirmed, Cheryl Cole has arrived in Los Angeles.

Looking stylish in a red leather coast, and jeans with bright lipstick, the 27-year-old looked focussed as she arrived at the airport terminal.

Her glamorous appearance was a little different to her more casual attire at Heathrow airport when she arrived to catch her flight more than 11 hours earlier.

Accompanied by her assistants, she wore yellow harem pants, towering buckled ankle boots and a blue striped T-shirt.

Following months of speculation, Cole was confirmed yesterday as a judge on the new U.S. version of the hit British show alongside Simon Cowell and Antonio ‘LA’ Reid.

Cole has already voiced her excitement about the new role searching for the talent America has to offer and said she is ready to battle it out against Cowell on the first series.

Cole said: ‘I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special.’

Pop princess Sarah Harding has been given an engagement ring similar to Princess Diana’s.

The Girls Aloud singer flashed the expensive ring as she walked through Heathrow airport with fiancé DJ Tom Crane.

The ring bares similarities to Princess Diana’s oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring which Prince William gave to Kate Middleton when he proposed.

Walking through Heathrow airport, a smiling Sarah, wearing shades, a grey jumpsuit and black jacket, looked refreshed following her New Year holiday in the Maldives.

Fiance Tom got down on one knee on New Year’s Eve and proposed to his girlfriend of more than three years.

CHERYL COLE seems to be well on her way to making a full recovery from her bout of malaria.

The singer may still be pale and thin following her run in with the potentially-fatal illness but she mustered up the energy to endure a 11-hour flight to Los Angeles.

He had been staying with Cheryl while in London following up work offers.

Recent rumours suggets the two have become more than just friends since working on Cheryl’s Parachute video.

Cheryl was comforted by Derek after her split from ASHLEY COLE earlier this year.

Derek Hough is said to have surprised Cheryl Cole by whisking her off to Tanzania for a dream romantic holiday.

The dancer, who has been linked to the X Factor judge in recent months, only told her they were going to Tanzania in Africa when they arrived at the airport.

However the pair did not put on any show of affection at London’s Heathrow on Tuesday night and instead walked determinedly apart.

Cheryl then hugged her assistant goodbye before boarding a flight with Dancing With The Stars professional Derek.

Their cosy trip together will do nothing to dampen speculation of a blossoming romance.

Hough’s stepfather has revealed that Derek is head over heels for Cheryl.

Speaking from his Los Angeles home, Aaron Nelson, 54, told the Daily Mirror: ‘They are going somewhere very exotic, very picturesque and it will be a nice break for them. ‘It will be one of those dream romantic holidays that you take when you are just starting out on a relationship. Derek is totally in love with the girl and wants to spend as much time as he can with her.’

Hough is said to have picked the east African country after Cheryl told him she fell in love with the country following her Comic Relief climb up Mount Kilimanjaro last year.

The pair took the 10-hour flight and will spend a short break together before Cheryl returns to Britain for more X Factor auditions next week.

Cheryl dressed in casual faded jeans and a denim jacket, teamed with Louboutin heels as she stalked her way through the airport, while Hough also dressed down in jeans, a T-shirt and trainers.

A source added: ‘[The holiday] was a complete surprise to Cheryl and she couldn’t believe he had gone to so much trouble organising it.
