Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh is reportedly set to join the line-up of Strictly Come Dancing 2012, which is due to begin next month.
The 30-year-old – who recently starred as Princess Fiona in the West End production of Shrek The Musical – will reportedly join a line-up which will include Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, TV presenter Fern Britton, BBC Breakfast’s Sian Williams and cricketer Michael Vaughn.
And a source told the Mirror that they were thrilled to have Walsh on board.
‘When we heard she was interested we were thrilled,’ the insider said. ‘Now everyone’s dying to see her moves. She’s a great name to have got.’
If she does take part in the show she will join a line-up which will also reportedly include The Great British Bake-Off’s judge Paul Hollywood.
‘The Great British Bake Off has been a huge ratings success for the BBC and we are delighted that Paul is now on board,’ a source told The Sun.
‘He has a reputation for being a tough cookie and it will be interesting to see how he copes once he is out of his comfort zone.’
Others tipped to take part include Olympic champions Victoria Pendleton and Sir Steve Redgrave – although Rebecca Adlington, who won bronze at London 2012, has denied she will be gracing the dancefloor.
The launch edition of the new series will be screened on September 15, with the main show beginning on October 5.
