Cheryl Cole’s next solo album will be more of a “pop record” claim insiders close to the singer.

Although her label didn’t intend to release the record until next year, fans will now get to hear the sequel to 2009′s 3 Words later this year, Heat reports.

A source revealed to the magazine: “It won’t be radically different from 3 Words, but it might be a bit more of a pop record. This album will make her a really big pop star.”

Collaborations on the currently untitled album are said to include songs with Taio Cruz, Ellie Goulding and of course, will.i.am.

Earlier today Cole’s rep confirmed that Cheryl is in hospital, where she is being treated for malaria.

As such, she has now cancelled her forthcoming work commitments, including this week’s X Factor auditions.
