Britain’s Next Top Model reject Harleen Kaur Nottay has praised guest judge Nicola Roberts.

The Scottish model, who exited the show on Monday, said that the Girls Aloud star was happy to spare her time when working with the contestants on an anti-bullying campaign challenge.

“Nicola was really, really nice. On the day she was quite constructive, saying, ‘Why don’t you try and do this, or try that’, changing it up a bit for me,” she told Bang Showbiz.

“As a judge I thought she was great, and a really nice person too. I sat chatting to her for about 25 minutes, while she was giving me advice.”

However, Nottay was critical of the show’s host and head judge Elle Macpherson, claiming that the supermodel was not being honest with the aspiring models during their tasks.

“I wish that on the day she’d given us a little bit of criticism,” she said. “She obviously had some, because at elimination she said she thought I was a beautiful girl, but not very photogenic, and I just wish she’d told me that. She would tell us in elimination, but it was too late then, wasn’t it.”

Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts joins the News of the World’s award-winning campaign against bullying in a special episode of telly hit Britain’s Next Top Model.

The singer will appear tomorrow night as mentor and judge as the normally glam models Delita, Tiffany and Joy – all victims of bullies – pose in grim settings for a poster campaign against cruel tormentors. Help group Beatbullying will use the photos in their battle to support young victims.

Nicola, who’s been abused in the past for her ginger hair and fair skin, said: “I think that the photographs will really help thousands of young people in the UK that are being bullied.”

Another crop of young design talent celebrated the end of Graduate Fashion Week with a gala catwalk presentation showcasing the best contributors from fashion colleges and universities across the UK.

The event was held at Earls Court and was presented by fashion favourite Caryn Franklin. Stars in attendance included Rachel Stevens, girl aloud Nicola Roberts and designers Betty Jackson and Jens Laugeson.

It’s a tribute to the young designers that most collections inspired thoughts not of ‘didn’t they do well but rather ‘how can I get my hands on that’.
