The girls took to their individual twitter accounts to thank the fans for their support during their 10 year career as a band.
Cheryl and Nadine were the first to crack, even before the last show in Liverpool, but we hadn’t known at the time it was their ‘final’ goodbyes as an Alouder:
Cheryl
“To the people that haven’t been able to make it, for what ever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs.”
Nadine
“I love you @GirlsAloud fans so so so so so much! You have given me everything! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love seeing all your faces. Ok more tears. I love you all forever. Xxxxx NC”
Then earlier today, Kimberley, Sarah and Nicola surfaced to say their speeches:
Kimberley
“To our Alouders, Just wanna say please don’t be sad today we have had some amazing years together and we should be celebrating the incredible memories. I will always be there for you all and I know you will for me. This is just the beginning of a new journey and it’s gonna be fun. Love you all for your unconditional support”

Girls Aloud star, colour ambassador and style mentor, Nicola Roberts, has brought new meaning to ‘January Blues’ by being transformed into a canvas of Indigo Night to announce 2013′s Colour of the Year – as predicted by a global panel of experts from leading paint brand, Dulux.

Captured in a series of mono-chromatic images, which showcase the singer as she has never been before, Nicola’s signature porcelain skin and flame red hair contrast boldly with a custom set, styling and make-up compilation which are all entirely Indigo. Achieved by a production team of 10 and a 12-hour shoot, almost every inch of the star’s body features air-brush make-up application through costume lace to create a unique body art effect.
The specific colour, Indigo Night, was predicted following extensive research by an 18-strong panel of global colour and trend experts who specialise in different areas of colour use. Collectively the team scours the globe, exploring a broad range of different cultures and industries including interiors, fashion, beauty, design and even social and economic influences. The result is an annual trend forecast known as ColourFutures, which depicts five key trends for the year ahead and one true Colour of the Year, competing with the world’s leading trend authorities.
Louise Smith, Dulux Senior Global Colour Designer, comments:
“We’re currently living in turbulent times and this is having an effect on the colours we want to wrap ourselves and our homes in. Blue is a key fashion colour for 2013 and is set to be a wardrobe and interior favourite throughout the year. Indigo adds a surprising, elegant strength and shows you are quietly confident with colour, which is why we felt Nicola would be the perfect ambassador for Indigo Night; an advocate of being bold with her natural colour and champion of colour in her everyday life.”
Popstar Nicola, who has recently announced a new tour and released a UK top 10 album and single with Girls Aloud, has championed colour throughout her career. Always seen sporting vibrant fashion, with colour also playing a major part in the Girls Aloud brand, Nicola even created her own make-up range, Dainty Doll, which is tailored to those with pale complexions – a signature of the star’s look.
To celebrate the announcement of Indigo Night as the Colour of the Year, Dulux is offering a limited supply of free testers, which can be ordered online through http://www.dulux.co.uk/

Little Mix have premiered a new track called Going Nowhere which features them beatboxing and rapping!
Taken from their debut album, the track was co-written by Iain James, Fred Ball and Nicola Roberts.
It’s about the realisation that a relationship is going nowhere as the boyfriend isn’t making an effort anymore.
They hit the chorus with the lyrics: ‘Leave, you’re not the boy you said you’d be. And it’s so hard for me to breath.
‘How can I love you boy if you’re going nowhere? We’re going nowhere.’

Singer Nicola Roberts officially opened Alder Hey Hospital’s brand new mental health facility. The Girl’s Aloud singer visited the new facility, Alder Park, where she met patients, families and staff at the Unit before the official opening.
Nicola spent time learning about the Unit from patients and families, before taking a tour to view the facilities on offer. She then officially opened Alder Park by unveiling a special picture, created by patient Jacob Scott especially for the occasion.
Located in the Waterloo area of Liverpool, Alder Hey purchased the large purpose built facility as the old site at the hospital in West Derby became unfit for purpose. The new designated facility offers more therapeutic and recreational space, while its close proximity to a beach and local park provides outdoor activities for patients and families to enjoy.
Nicola said: “I am delighted to open this new Dewi Jones Unit in Alder Park today. The patients have told me how excited they are to have a brand new unit right next to the beach. Jacob’s picture for the opening is amazing and I’m honoured that the patients have asked me to open it for them. It was lovely to meet them and their families.”
As one of only seven dedicated children’s units in the country, Alder Park’s catchment area includes Merseyside, Cheshire and the Wirral but it also accepts referrals from the Isle of Man and North Wales. The Unit looks after around 50 young people every year with a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychosis, eating disorders and ADHD.
As an Investing in Children hospital, Alder Hey is keen to involve patients in developing its services. Young people and their families were taken to view the site and consider ideas for redevelopment. They were also consulted on the layout and design of the facility, including the use of space, colour scheme, decor, bedroom fittings, furniture, equipment and outdoor space. Since moving, they continue to discuss ideas for their new facility, including different use of space.
Andrea O’Donnell, Nurse Consultant at Alder Park explains: “We care for children and young people up to 14 years old who have a wide range of complex difficulties. Along with providing second opinions, consultations and assessment for our outpatients, we have nine beds on the Unit for our inpatients. Many of these children and young people stay with us for three months or more so this facility needs to be right for them. It was really important to us that our patients and families were involved in designing and planning the new facility.”
The team at Alder Park includes nursing and support staff, psychologists, medical and family therapists. Their extensive knowledge and experience allows them to offer many different types of intervention, including medication, cognitive behaviour therapy, family therapy, parenting interventions, neuro cognitive assessments and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Group therapy and therapeutic activities are also available while the facility has access to the hospital’s Play Service and Arts for Health programme.
Sue Brown, General Manager for District Services at Alder Hey said: “We are delighted that Nicola could join us in celebrating such a special day for our patients and families, especially as she is a real favourite with our children. On behalf of everyone at our new Alder Park, I wish to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Nicola for coming today to open our new home and express her support for the Unit.”
